We are currently distributing GIRLS (pre-teen) and JUNIORS sizes in the FeisDress Designs™ Irish Dance Dress pattern.

We encourage you to select the correct size based on the upper chest measurement (amrsyce) . Therefore, the patterns are sized GIRLS A through GIRLS F and JUNIORS A through JUNIORS G so you won’t be confused with ready-to-wear number sizes. If your measurement falls between sizes, get the larger size.

upper chest measurementHow to measure the upper chest: Have your dancer stand with her arms hanging down at her sides. You will notice little creases radiating upward from her underarm. Select a point about an inch above the ends of the creases and measure across the chest. This is the measurement from armscye to armscye – it determines where your armhole seam will be. Check it with your dancer in “normal” posture and again in “dance” posture. Technically, there should be very little difference between the two because this is a “bone” measurement, but if the dancer has exaggerated posture either way, it could be significantly different. If this is the case, pick a size in between, or if the other measurements match the larger size, go with that
